When Transitioning Wooden Trim from Stain and Polyurethane to Semi Gloss White or Transitioning Kitchen Cabinets to White, "Nobody Knows Paint Like The Romans".
HOW DO YOU PAINT WOOD TRIM?
The Process of Transitioning Wood, the right way, for lasting results is more involved than you may think!
Our process:
First, We Scuff and Sand off all the Polyurethane on the existing surfaces. This alsohelps close the Pores in the Wood.
Next we wipe the Wood down with Tack Cloth.
Then we apply and Oil based Primer to ensure scuff resistance for the longevity of the surface.
Now, we apply 65 year, Siliconized Acrylic Caulking where all Wood meets and into Walls and fill Nail Holes.
We finish by applying at least Two Coats of Waterborne Urethane Alkyd Semi Gloss Top Coats for the Perfect, long lasting Finish.
We always encourage our Clients to get an Estimate from a Carpenter on replacing the Trim, so that they can see the Value in what we do... Often times, replacing the Trim really leaves its mark on the Homes Walls, when tearing the current Trim out.
Currently, the costs associated with Replacing Trim versus Painting Trim is heavily favorable to having a Professional like us Transition the Trim.
